WB4JWM 630 meter non-linear amplifier

– Posted in: 630 Meter Instructional Topics, 630 Meters

Recently Tom, WB4JWM, developed an amplifier based around a pair of IRFP250’s that used the output network of GW3UEP amplifier and the input squarer of WA3ETD.  His results have been very good, reporting that he has “…added a dual mosfet driver and used two IRFP250’s in parallel but with independent drive.  This is very stable at all levels of drive with a clean output.  I’m very pleased as to how it has been working running at 225 watts out cool at 36VDC.

Tom submitted this document with images, a few part numbers and answers to a few common questions.
