I’ve been fortunate to make a large number of QSO’s with a large number of active, fine operators on 630-meters since being granted WG2XIQ in 2012. I’m still blown away by what can be with small antennas and low power below the AM broadcast band.
In December 2015, I had the pleasure of sharing the first 630-meter QSO in Hawaii with Merv, K9FD/KH6 / WH2XCR. Using JT9, we completed a textbook QSO and the rest is history, as they say. This week I received Merv’s QSL for the QSO and no doubt it is the finest QSO I’ve had as WG2XIQ. Thanks for the opportunity, Merv… Let’s do it again as Part-97 amateurs very soon!
