Conditions were impacted over the previous 24-hour period due to a coronal hole and subsequent solar wind.  The Planetary K-index ranged between 4 and 5 and the Space Weather Prediction Center has issued an extended warning.

Signal levels have  been slightly down but participation is very high.  No Trans-Atlantic path was observed for the period and the Trans-Pacific path was limited to KH6 and Pacific Northwest to Oceania.  The path to JA was not observed.

This morning’s noise level  was higher than what is normally seen in the pre-dawn hours recently.  It appears there are a few active storm fronts in the southern US that have been contributing to the most recent noise floor increases.

Lets hope for some recovery in the geomagnetic field and an emptying of the ring current reservoirs soon.
