In response to the very positive comments about this year’s 630-meter discussion panel at Hamcom with guests Eric Tichansky and John Molnar, I am thinking about hosting a number of sessions at Hamcom 2016 and utilizing the same remote access applications as I did this year in order to bring in talented and experience operators for 630-meters and 2200-meters to talk to a live audience directly. I might also be able to stream the content live on Ustream or a comparable public site for those not in the area to see. Perhaps there are also opportunities for live feed back and questions from a streaming audience. There are many possibilities.
If you are currently an experimental operator or someone who is just interested in learning more about these bands, please go to the contact page and send me your ideas of some of the sessions that might be appropriate.
I’ve already asked one Part-5 experimental operator on 630-meter to think about holding a 50-minute session on the mathematics associated with calculating radiated power and how to stay in compliance. Perhaps another session might be dedicated to antennas and another session might be solely about generating a signal. I certainly think a talk about propagation is in order.
Meeting proposal submissions for next year will not begin until January 2016 so there is plenty of time to work out the details. If this is something that you might be interested in being involved with, please let me know.
