A look into radios that are WSPR and JT-x friendly

This article is somewhat timeless because the radios that are available today that will provide WSPR and JT-x compatibility fit into two catagories. Above $1000.00 and below $1000.00.

For this exploration I chose to go with the lesser cost radios that would provide top quality stability and are capable of low power operations. These radios are listed below, by stability –

Generally speaking all of these radios will tune to 100Khz or less – It will be your decision as to which one will fit your needs. Some will TX with modifications ( out of band mod) However, in all cases any radio that is modified to TX on 630 meter s or 2200 meters will require a good filter, and most likely a squaring circuit to use with a class “D” or cless “E” amplifier.
