This session was similar to the previous based on reported S/N values but fewer WSPR decodes were recorded for my signal. Noise levels were elevated as Summer storms continue to “hang around”.
Geomagnetic conditions continue at very quiet levels with solar wind velocities averaging 350 km/s. The Bz has been variable but is currently pointing slightly to the South. With low solar wind levels at the moment there does not appear to be much of an impact. DST values are elevated once again:
Referencing a report from a few weeks back from Roger, VK4YB, the active CW station in ZL has been identified as Con, ZL2APF. Roger also notes that Kevin, ZL4MD, was also present. Roger also relates some excitement from the session:
Ken, K5DNL / WG2XXM, reports high QRN overnight where he decoded two WSPR stations and was decoded by seventeen unique stations.
Neil, W0YSE/7 / WG2XSV, reports that he decoded VE7SL, WG2XIQ, WG2XXM and WH2XGP and was decoded by N6RY, VA5LF, VE7BDQ, VE7SL and WH2XGP using WSPR.
Roelof, PA0RDT, reported that he decoded Joe, VO1NA, who was operating CW at 5 wpm. Roelof reports marginal aural copy during the session:
Steve, VE7SL, reports that he decoded six WSPR stations and was decoded by six unique stations. He had a nice surprise with a decode of VK4YB:
Regional and continental WSPR breakdowns follow:
There were no reports from the trans-Atlantic, trans-African, or trans-Equitorial paths during this session. UA0SNV was present but no reports have been filed at this time.
In the Caribbean, Eden, ZF1EJ, reported WG2XXM and WG2XIQ:
Laurence, KL7L / WE2XPQ, was reported as far South as British Columbia during the session but was likely also heard at WH2XCR who was intermittent during the session:
Merv, K9FD/KH6 / WH2XCR, reports that a power outage limited his session overnight but he was decoded by a number of stations, most notably those in Australia:
Jim, W5EST, is taking a break today from his normal technical discussions and offers the following word puzzle:
